High School graduate, Valedictorian, 1973; Health club and retail sales as summer and part-time jobs. Duquesne University, Journalism/PR major

Sabbatical – Cape Cod, MA 1975-78 Retail sales, marketing secretary, Cape Cod Bank & Trust; Cape Cod Voc-Tech School.

Further Education

University of Mass/Boston, Business and Community Service Management Major – BA, Management, 1979. Completed degree in 3 semesters while working full time at the Massachusetts Higher Education Commission.

Career Development

Boston Ballet, Publicist – arranged promotions, publicity, and worked with Ballet Society and Board of Trustees.  Learned that “non-profit” also applies to earning potential.

WROR-FM Promotion Director – Advertising, promotions, public affairs programming, special events, publicity.

MARC Advertising, Public Relations Director – Marketing and PR for agency clients.
Press relations, story placement, promotions, client building.

Oxford Development Co. – Career change to commercial real estate. Shopping Center Development – National and local lead generation, leased space, marketed downtown shopping mall. Oxford resigned from property. Hired by:

J.J. Gumberg Co., Southeast, Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Leased space in area shopping centers from Sarasota to Tampa and Naples. Decided to return to marketing.

Softouch/Activewear Corporation of America, Marketing Director. Marketing and sales for women’s sportswear manufacturing firm. Achieved national press coverage for both designer and apparel lines.

Harris Drury Cohen, Public Relations Manager – 1996. Press relations, publicity, marketing, new business.

PR Consultant, free-lance writer.

Projects included:
Sporting Goods Dealer Magazine, Apparel Editor; Culture – Arts & Entertainment of the Palm Beaches, Director, Sales & Marketing, writer; Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival, PR consultant; Weider Publications, and various trade and consumer magazines, writer.

Script writing for Discovery Channel, “The Cutting Edge Medical Report” Fox TV, “Rub of the Green” golf show and web copy for OLN-TV “Global Extremes 4Runners of Adventure” series.

World Champion Drambuie On Ice Offshore Race Team – Handled press relations for the team, then segued into coverage of offshore racing and consumer marine news for speedvision.com and writing for Extreme Boats magazine and other marine publications from Powerboat to Yachts International and INVICTUS magazines.

Cigarette Racing Team 2002-2012– Handled press relations and special events for the most iconic powerboat brand in history. A decade of performance—on and off the water!

Write On! – Ongoing writing for various publications, PR for clients including press and collateral materials and websites.

Coining Dynamic Aging – the next chapter 2015–

Teaching yoga, Body Rolling and co-starred in a video, “Hard Body Yoga” Rose/Thorn Productions. On-going private fitness instruction and 18 years at The GYM, Fort Lauderdale Beach, worked with NEXT LEVEL Fitness Training, The City of Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk and Broward Health Imperial Point.

The current focus on and certification in senior fitness led me to work with the City of Sunrise Senior Center and work with South Florida seniors on Dynamic Aging—realizing the Power of Movement.
